Feb 12 : 2nd MS Motosuit Series Rd 1

CEBU---REIGNING Rider of the Year of the MS Motosuit Motocross Series, Irwin
Ramas-Uypitching started the MS Series’ second edition with a bang after posting
another impressive result in the kick-off leg at the Wagas racetrack in Lilo-an,
this province.

RUSI’s mainman, Uypitching inspired by the honors he got out of the
2006 series, pulled one convincing win, a better start than last year
actually.

To recall, Uypitching suffered an injury in the first leg last year,
made sure he would not suffer the same fate by taking the practice
round carefully in the expert’s title.

And as soon as the race proper begun, the fully loaded Uypitching
zoomed past Pepo Rubi who made a hole shot only to be outmaneuvered by
Uypitching in the fifth lap of the 12-lap heat.

Leading after the first heat, Uypitching made sure not to waste time
and powered on in the final heat to win the Manuel Wagas’ Cup.

Jubenile Abellar eventually ended second while Jon-Jon Adlawan was third.

Jubenile’s brother, Jubannie Abellar ended fourth after engaging on a
hard collision with Pepo Rubi who ended his quest at fifth spot.

Although only finishing fifth, Pepo Rubi was just happy enough to have
recovered from a bad fall during the first heat.

The veteran Rubi was on his way to taking back the lead grabbed from
him by Uypitching.

But instead of getting back on top, Rubi ended colliding with Jubannie
at the turn of the racetrack.

Rubi reportedly collapsed that caused him to earn a DNF(did-not-finish) in the first heat.

Rubi tried harder, but a DNF in the initial heat caused him to be on a
tail end.

On the other hand, John Flores also started his title defense in the
mini class strongly as he won the top post over the returning Samantha
Abellar as John Ytac,Jr.was third.

Bonnie Bustillo also joined Uypitching and Flores in making a good
start after winning the local enduro over Wenson Lao and Amay Amon.

Another regular rider in last year’s series, Chai Hong Sy won the
intermediate open title over Jubenile Abellar while Paulo Inoc ended
third.

Michael Sandoy outsmarted Reynaldo Ytac for the beginner’s open
production title as Jabe Planas settled third.

In the novice open enduro, it was Ayen Ledesma who finished first
while the next two spots were taken by Bonnie Bustillo and Alex
Pangan.

Clark Wagas, son of the first leg’s host, was not to be outdone himself.
Even with a mishap in another class he joined, Wagas won a title
himself after dominating the novice open production over Chai Hong Sy
and Aloy Igot.

Igot, however, was not sad, as he salvaged the executive A class
against Jun Enriquez while Gener Sicad was third.

The executive B saw Rey Ytac winning the top post with Enriquez and
Sicad finishing with another second and third place honors
respectively.

Ebong Apas joined the winner’s cast after reigning supreme in the
all-Lilo-an class.

After the huge success in Lilo-an even with the Sinulog mardi gras going
on at the Queen City of the South, the MS Motosuit Motocross Series
shifts gear to Bayawan City on February 11.
