The final race of the Masters of Endurance series, the Bol d'Or 24 hours race, once again saw battle resume between long-time rivals Yamaha GMT94 and Castrol Suzuki.
Christophe Guyot's Yamaha team of Sebastien Gimbert, William Costes and David Checa had won the first round of the Masters of Endurance series,
the 24 hours of Le Mans and were out to do the double at the Bol d'Or at Magny Cours in France.

Marlboro Ducati's Loris Capirossi scored an amazing victory at the Japanese GP at Motegi japan last Sunday. The victory was the 4th for the little Italian in the premiere class and second for Ducati. Second was Repsol-Honda's Max Biaggi and third was home-boy Makoto Tamada.

Round 6 of the Motorcycle Grand Prix saw another victory by Jaime Barcial of Revzone-Yamaha in the Premier Castrol Underbone Grand Prix after electrical gremlins struck Shell-Kawasaki's Jolet Jao at the Batangas Racing Circuit. THM-Honda's Bryan Ortile overcame his tendency to crash in the rain by finishing second. Third was JJ Guia of PJBonza-Suzuki after an exciting battale with Rizaldi Canare of Bataan.

Sept 20: Yamaha X-1 Launch on Sept 24 at Megastrip SM Megamall
Yamaha's much anticipated new underbone model, the X-1, will finally be launched in a special one-day event at the Megastrip in SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City on Sept 24, Saturday. The public launch will feature bike exhibits, games and back-to-back Rock Concerts.

Last Sunday’s Shell Advance Superbike Round 9 saw Suzuki’s Mendoza win over Kawasaki’s Jao. Del Rosario was again third ahead of Chua. The afternoon race saw a tight duel again between Jao and Mendoza for the win with Del Rosario and Chua again exchanging 3rd position. But on the last lap Mendoza lost the rear while in 2nd place and Jao lost his concentration and crashed on the very next corner! Mendoza could not re-start his bike and was classified last while Jao managed to salvage third place to increase his points lead. Del Rosario won his first Expert Superbike race after three years of competition with Chua second and PCSO’s Ortiz fourth with APEXX Rider Goitia fifth.

The event will serve as the qualifying event to determine the two riders who will represent the Philippines in the 2005 Taiwan Gymkhana Grand Prix set at the Taipei Show Center in Taipei, Taiwan on October 15-16, 2005.

Stefan Everts (Yamaha L&M Motocross Team) secured the 2005 riders MX1
World Championship today at Lierop, winning his 7th GP of the season
after claiming both races. The win gives Everts and Yamaha their fifth
straight title since 2001. The 32-year old Belgian has also bettered his
own all-time record of motocross world titles to nine and his GP tally
now stands at a record 86. Steve Ramon and Ben Townley (both KTM)
completed the podium. Yamaha now has a seven-point lead in the MX1
manufacturers' standings but the title will be decided at Desert Martin.

The first-ever motorcycle gymkhana competition in the country takes off at FTI Food terminal Inc. in Bicutan (TBC) on September 25, 2005.
Motorcycle gymkhana is a riding skills and safety contest set on a enclosed obstacle-laden ( pylon - traffic cone ) track where the participants take turns in traversing the course at the quickest time possible. The sport is an offshoot of the popular automobile gymkhana ( slalom ). Motorcycle gymkahana, for being more economical and less dangerous does not lack in challenge and excitement and is expected to become more popular in Asia and the Philippines in the next few years.

Round four of the 2005 AFM Series at Thunderhill Park saw former Number One plateholder Jeff Tigert work his Marin Cycleworks CBR1000RR through the field to win the featured Mach 1 Motorsports Formula Pacific race. Defending Champion David Stanton finished second on his Arclight Suzuki GSX-R1000, despite having a monstrous four-second lead on the field early in the race. Ken Hill finished third on his CBR1000RR, driving past Jon Bawden and his fast GSX-R750 in the final run to the checkered flag.
