Team Alstare Suzuki rider Max Neukirchner continued his good run of form with a hard-fought fourth place in race one at the Miller Motorsports Park today before following it up runner-up spot in race two.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing's Ben Spies celebrated the end of an excellent AMA Superbike double-header weekend at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah on Sunday with a double victory for the GSX-R1000.

The USA's most recent MotoGP World Champion was given a hero's welcome by American race-fans at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday as he undertook a demonstration lap on his Honda RC212V, shortly before the start of the 92nd staging of the Indianapolis 500 race.

The Fiat Yamaha team head into their home Grand Prix at Mugello in Italy this weekend looking to continue the most successful ever start to a MotoGP World Championship for the Japanese factory. Yamaha riders have won three of the first five races of the year, having taken pole in four of them, and have racked up nine podiums – including a top-three lockout at the last round in France. Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo currently occupy the top two positions in the championship, while Yamaha are leading both the Constructors’ and Teams’ standings.

After the frustrations of the French Grand Prix at Le Mans just over a week week ago, Kawasaki's John Hopkins and Anthony West head this week for the Tuscan hills of Italy, and the picturesque circuit of Mugello, for the sixth round of the MotoGP world championship.

Valentino Rossi made another historic step in his incredible career today when he took his 90th career victory in Le Mans, equalling the record set by the great Angel Nieto, to move into second in the all-time winners list behind Giacomo Agostini. It was an outstanding display from the Fiat Yamaha Team rider and he celebrated in fine style when Nieto joined him on his slow-down lap, the Spaniard taking charge of the bike with Rossi riding pillion behind him.

Despite a strong start to today's French Grand Prix at Le Mans, Kawasaki's John Hopkins saw any chance of a top five finish disappear just after the halfway point in the race, when the chain on his Ninja ZX-RR snapped without warning.

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racer Chris Vermeulen celebrated his best result so far this season by finishing in an impressive fifth position at Le Mans in France today, with team-mate Loris Capirossi crossing the line in an equally strong seventh place.

Fiat Yamaha Team rider Valentino Rossi took an impressive victory in Shanghai today, his second at the circuit having won the inaugural Chinese Grand Prix with Yamaha in 2005. It was Rossi’s 89th career victory but his first in seven races, since Estoril last year, as well as his first on Bridgestone tyres.

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP's Loris Capirossi was deprived of at least a top five position at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai today, through a mixture of bad luck and a small mistake.

Kawasaki's John Hopkins and Anthony West were left frustrated today, after rear traction problems left them unable to fulfil their true potential in this afternoon's 22-lap Chinese Grand Prix. Hopkins finished a difficult race in 14th position, with West crossing the line a further 20 seconds back in 17th place.

The National Racing Association began it with four hours for motorcycle road racing in the Philippines in 2001.

Jorge Lorenzo topped off an incredible opening month in MotoGP with his
maiden premier class victory today, his first ever career win at Estoril. After three pole positions and two podiums, the Fiat Yamaha Team rookie went one step further to win the Portuguese Grand Prix in fine style, taking joint first in the championship standings in the process. It was also the second double podium of the season for the team, with Valentino Rossi finishing third.

Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda RC212V) rode with both pace and calculation to make the most of a Portuguese Grand Prix in which he had to watch his bitterest rival Jorge Lorenzo take the win with Valentino Rossi third (both Yamaha). Lorenzo and Dani now jointly lead the world standings.

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racers Chris Vermeulen and Loris Capirossi raced to
eighth and ninth places respectively during today's Portuguese Grand Prix at Estoril, to earn valuable points in the race for the championship.

The Portuguese Grand Prix took place today at Estoril and Kawasaki rider, John Hopkins, claimed his best ever finish at the circuit. The 24-year-old Anglo American rode over the line in fifth position after 28 laps, giving him his first top five position at Estoril, which is famously hard on bikes, riders and tyres.
