The much awaited Yamaha ASEAN Cup 2007 will be held in Malaysia this year. Selection is now open for Team Yamaha Philippines. The NAMSSA ( National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association ) has proposed to the MMDA the implementation of a city ordinance with regards to the use of permanent headlights use on all two wheel vehicles on public roads. This was unanimously approved recently in a meeting with the MMDA Council of Mayors.

Ducati Marlboro Team rider Casey Stoner won a breathtaking three-man battle for victory at Catalunya this afternoon to extend his points lead at the top of the MotoGP World Championship. Team-mate Loris Capirossi also rode a storming race, riding to sixth place from his sixth-row start, the legacy of a luckless qualifying session here.

Valentino Rossi rode his Yamaha M1 to a fighting second place in Catalunya today after an exhilarating battle with Casey Stoner, the Australian eventually taking the flag just 0.069 seconds ahead of the Fiat Yamaha rider after a nail-biting final few laps. Rossi 96th premier-class podium gives him yet another record as it takes him above Mick Doohan as the rider with the most podium finishes ever in the top class of Grand Prix racing. The NAMSSA has urged the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to implement the Daylight Riding Light (DRL) scheme for the safety of motorcycle riders in the country.
